This 2711P-K12C4D8 logic module comes standard with RS-232 and Ethernet serial ports. The function of the Ethernet port is to support Ethernet options and EtherNet/IP using KEPServer drivers. The RAM and the compact flash memory come in different sizes. The users can order them separately or they can order them bundled with the 2711P-K12C4D8 PanelView Plus CE terminal or bundled with the logic module for the PanelView Plus terminal.

The base unit terminal has a built-in Ethernet and RS-232 communication ports and the communication module known as the 2711P-RN20 provides an additional Ethernet port, a Standard Communication (Ethernet and RS-232) port, and scheduled and unscheduled communication capabilities.

The 2711P-K12C4D8 PanelView Plus provides an open platform which allows the users to easily access the Windows CE desktop suite. This additional functionality can be used to access production schedules from the user’s terminal, saving time by allowing the manuals to be viewed directly on the user’s screen, allowing remote access to the 2711P-K12C4D8 with VNC (Virtual Network Computing), and improving the machine control while simplifying setup with a live video with a live camera.

The internal CompactFlash for PanelView Plus CE terminals consists of the flash memory, of the open Windows CE OS, and of the FactoryTalk View software (Machine Edition). The internal CompactFlash for 2711P-K12C4D8 PanelView Plus terminal includes the flash memory and the open Windows CE operating system.
