PVC VS Plywood Formwork

We carried out a hands-on comparison between plywood and PVC formwork at our construction site to evaluate their performance under the same conditions. The two images below show both formwork types in use within the same building section, offering a direct side-by-side comparison. Each type of formwork has been reused six times, providing us with insights into their durability, ease of handling, and the quality of concrete finishes after multiple uses.

The concrete surfaces shown below were demoulded from two different formworks. The concrete cast using PVC formwork exhibits a noticeably superior finish. The following images provide a comparison of the two surfaces: on the left is the concrete formed with PVC formwork, and on the right is the concrete formed with plywood formwork.
