Cast Acrylic Sheet
PMMA | PLEXIGLASS SHEET | PERSPEX SHEET
Acrylic refers to polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), which is also known as plexiglass or perspex. Compared with other transparent plastic sheets, clear acrylic sheet has crystal transparency comparable to glass, so it is also called organic glass. Acrylic sheets are divided into cast acrylic sheets and extruded acrylic sheets by different manufacturing processes.
Cast acrylic sheets are manufactured by the casting process. We inject the raw material into the mold and press it with a coverplate, heat and solidify to form an acrylic sheet. Through the casting process we can produce very thick acrylic sheets, and its high molecular weight enables it to have better physical properties. For those applications that require rigidity, strength, cast acrylic can be your first choice over extruded acrylic.
