Interpretation of S355J2H brand

The steel starting with S refers to structural steel, while the following 355 refers to the minimum yield strength at room temperature of 355MPa. Moreover, the steel starting with S is carbon steel, so you only need to find a domestic grade carbon steel with a minimum yield strength of 355MPa at room temperature.

For example, S235 can be replaced by Q235. As far as I know, there is steel made of Q355 material in China, and Q is the handwritten letter for the yield strength of Qu Pinyin. So Q355 should be able to replace S355, but the alloy composition may be slightly different.

S355J2H is similar to Q345D in the national standard, requiring an impact energy of over 27J at -20 ℃. It belongs to low alloy high-strength steel and has good plasticity and impact toughness.
